This is a highly collectible and stylish vintage nearly! - 2005 metal super compact from Olympus.
A minor refresh over the non-S 4MP version, it has a bright 2x optical zoom lens and 5MP sensor giving great pics for the time. Sadly whilst this worked fine a decade ago, and was our family camera for a few years, it's gotten grumpy in storage - there seems to be a misalignment or other mechanical issue with the lens extension - it tries, but makes some unhappy noises, before giving up and showing an error message. See attached video of the fault in detail! All the electronics, and the battery, are still working great, and I used the camera with the included USB cable to retrieve images from and then wipe our cards.Original manual and software CDs. USB and composite video cable. 16MB XD Picture Card (though works with up to 1GB cards at least).
Fitted case and long-rope lanyard with card storage pouch this is really very nice! This seems an excellent project fix for someone practical, knowing the non-serviceable electronic parts are all good, and there's been no outside damage. Might be as simple as poking a spring or cleaning a contact once inside!
